Hi there,

I'm new here and trying to find out the if a vague memory of some books I read early in School are in fact real! I'm from the UK and remember reading some illustrated Kids Sci-Fi Books or book - I seem to remember something about a spaceship and Crystal Ice planet, perhaps something was going to blow up? and also the heroes (kids probably?) escaping through some ventalation shaft...

I think it had "Icarus" in the title maybe the "Icarus Factor"? or "Icarus Stone"

Well the only other clues are that I would of been about 7 so thats 1982 - The books must of been from 70's early 80's - If it's ventalations shafts maybe the author lifted the idea from Alien or Starwars...

sorry I know nothing more than that...

thanks, if anyone can shed somee light that would be amazing...!

cheers

The only thing that comes to mind is the Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn, which is a book focused around a spaceship. Its not really a kids book though. Hope that helps.

hey thanks for the reply, thats not what I'm looking for I'm afraid - but thanks for the guess :) I believe it's this book:

Icarus Factor
Muriel Duffy
Paperback - Hesperus P. (Oct 1984) - 20 Pages
ISBN 0946267162 - ISBN-13 9780946267163

which is pretty obscure to say the least!!

cheers again !
