Well, what fanatasy (or sf) stuff did people get for Christmas? (or Hannukah or Other holidays)

Here's what Santa brought me:
Corum: The Coming of Chaos by Moorcock
Hawkmoon by Michael Moorcock
Elric: Song of the Black Sword & Stealer of Souls by Moorcock
The Dreamtheif's Daughter by MM
The Little Country by Charles deLint
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
The Ill-Made Mute by Cecilia Dart-Thornton
City of Saints and Madmen by Jeff VanderMeer
The Charwoman's Shadow by Lord Dunsany
The Iron Dragon's Daughter by Michael Swanwick
A boxed set of the complete Chronicles of Narnia
A Tolkien Calendar by Ted Nasmith
Michael Whelan's Dragons and Mystics Calendar
SHReK on DVD?

Needless to say, it was a pretty good Christmas.

The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint
Chronicles of Narnia - CS Lewis
The October Country - Ray Bradbury

Omnibus Editon of Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny

The Goblin Calendar by Brian Froud

Two books of colleced Fritz Lieber Lankhmar short stories.

Hasn't arrived yet, but I THINK I'm getting Neil Gaiman's Stardust as well. Michael says I have one more package coming from Amazon.com.

Two books in the Elements of Writing series, Settings and Characters & Characterization. Not directly related to fantasy, but maybe someday it will be.

Santa brought me a beautifully massive hardcover edition of LOTR. With amazing illustrations by Alan Lee and immaculate maps this book is a treasure... Will probably sit on my bookshelf untouched for a long time... its almost to pristine to actually read. Oh well, when I need my Tolkien fix, I'll pick up some of my tattered LOTR paperbacks. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I only got one fantasy thing--a big hardback with all the LotR books in it. I've never read them. I tried to read the Hobbit once, but it was so dull I couldn't do it.

I got my SO The Lord of the Rings board game. It looks sort of interesting, but it is all in Swedish and I don't speak Swedish so I guess he will have to find someone else to play it with. He is sort of obsessed with LotR.

Okay, the only fantasy stuff i got this christmas was (don't hurt me!) a Lord of the Rings jigsaw puzzle.

This is my own fault for giving my Mum a list of about 30 books - mainly, but not all, scifi and fantasy - and leaving it to her which to get me!

I ca't complain, though. I ended up with:
'Dying of the Light' and 'Windhaven' - Martin
'Skipping Christmas' - John Grisham
'The Reality Dysfunction' - Hamilton
'Downbelow Station' - CJCherryh
'Speaker For The Dead' - Orson Scott Card
'The Gods Themselves' - Asimov

I think my Mum's a scifi fan. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Here goes my list of Xmas gift books :

The Golden Compass Phillip Pullman
The Subtle Knife Phillip Pullman
The Great Book of Amber Roger Zelazny
Jericho Moon Matthew Woodring Stover
Midnight Falcon David Gemmell
Winter's Heart Robert Jordan
Child of Flame Kate Elliot
Redemption of Athalus David Eddings
The Uncrowned King Michelle West
Sea of Sorrows Michelle West
Shadow Moon Chris Claremont/George Lucas
Faith of the Fallen Terry Goodkind
The Real Story Stephen R. Donaldson
A Dark and Hungry God Arises Stephen R. Donaldson
Chaos and Order Stephen R. Donaldson
This Day All Gods Die Stephen R. Donaldson

So between gift certs @ Chapters and Santa's sack, I think I had a pretty good haul... too bad I've already spent the certs...d'oh! Then again January will be a slow month for new softcover books... Feb and March look like they are going to cost me a pretty penny !
