synposis (as I remember it): sociologist says he can predict how an organisation will grow and set it up to continue growing rather than failing. Friend/colleague is sceptical, so they agree to try it out on a small town women's group. When they revisit in a few weeks, organisation has grown like topsy; when they visit again in a few months, organisation has metamorphosed and then again in a couple of years it has become a political force and looks like taking over the country.

Any ideas...? I can almost see the anthology it was published in but can't find it anywhere on my shelves! Driving me up the wall, esp. as want to mention it to a student to demonstrate some aspects of networks.

Hope someone can help!

Tony

I read that either in the Oxford Science Fiction Short Stories, or in the Aldiss edited Penguin Science Fiction Omnibus if that's any help.
