ASOIAF Spoilers!!!
For those of you familiar with this character, have you read any other books in which you encountered this sort of individual. I loved that guy, a shame he went out so early. I'd like to see more of such characters. One I'm personally reminded of is Waylander.

Her instructor was Syrio Forel. He was nothing like Oberyn Martell. Or perhaps you mean the Faceless Man, Jaqen H'gar?

I thought the duel was one of the best parts of ASoIaF.

Well, Arya was said to have two instructors. The one who taught her at King's Landing, Syrio Forel, a small, somewhat elderly man who used to be the First Sword of Braavos or Jaqen H'gar, an extremely lethal assasin who could change the shape of his face.

Ah
Well, he wasn't Arya's teacher, he was known as the Red Viper. The warrior who fought Gregor Clegane, the one with such an illustrious background (spent many years learning as a maester, fought in companyies of sellswords in the Free cities etc).

You cant compare him to Waylander http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif From memory the dope had the chance to finish of Clegane and didnt take it instead he prattled on about some girl and paid the price of being to showy. Waylander wouldnt have wasted time with talk unless it was a tactic.
Waylander is a legend, Red Viper a show boat http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/biggrin.gif.
