The BFS has had that reputation for horror for a while now. I think things are changing, but it must be said there is a lot of horror on that list. I thought Joe Hill's Heart Shaped Box would get it myself and would've liked Dan Simmons' The Terror to get it.

Ramsey accepted the honour in his traditional way. :) Christopher Fowler was Master of Ceremonies as well as award winner, which meant a dash across the stage.

Joel Lane was clearly quite stunned by his win: evidently he's been hoping for quite a while.

I was pleased with the Harryhausen Award and the Scott Lynch was a big surprise to me.
