I'm eager, not for the movie, but for how Shinga reacts to it. Shinga being a webcomic artist whose strident opposition to the Twilight franchise is entirely hilarious.
She's done two comics attacking the premise (http://shinga.deviantart.com/art/Head-Trip-Twilight-Sucks-85504254?moodonly=178) and where things end up (http://headtripcomics.comicgenesis.com/d/20080915.html).
She also did a hilarious parody (http://shinga.livejournal.com/478415.html) of the whole dang book, one chapter at a time.
Now, I haven't read more than a few pages of it, so I don't have much of an opinion on it myself, but my battle buddy's wife is a big fan of Meyer's stuff, so it's entirely possible that I get roped into seeing the flick. Meh. Sparkly emo vampire kids...

My girlfriend likes them and I've read the first one. Not really offensive, but very much for females! That said, I did quite enjoy it. An easy read and whilst I do agree with the little comic above (the lead male character is a little flat, at least in the first book) I will get around to reading the rest of them at some point.
It is best to realise that the books are essentially teen romance novels, with a vampire twist.

Well I loved the books. Wait till you see the romance in the next three books, it can get a little graphic so do not read unless you are of teenage years I'm not excited for the movie because the will probably kill it.

Grew more and more disappointed with the books. The last one was cr*p and like total fanfiction, imo.
But a good fluffy read, all the same, I suppose. Definetely an easy teen read.
I still manage to hope that they won't completely spoil the books, and might make them even better through a movie, although my hopes, I fear, are in vain...

I'm not dying with excitment at this movie. I loved the books, although the last one was a major disappointment. All that suspense and then nothing.
I think the choice for the entire Cullen family is wrong, bar Esme. Robert Pattinson is not what I call inhumanly beautiful, he certainly doesn't resemble a Greek God. I'd much rather see Gaspard Ulliel onscreen as the "Vampire Romeo" but that's just my opinion.
The trailer wasn't much good, very cheesy. I watched the parody trailer before the real one, and the two were far too similar. All this "you're impossibly fast! your skin is ice cold and pale as snow! I'm only afraid of losing you!" had me cringing.
Those parodies had me cracking up. :D

im so looking forward to the movie! I love the Twilight Saga, apart from Breaking Dawn, that was kinda messed up lol!
It is funny to see what haters of Twilight say about the saga, Deviantart has some very interesting peices lol! They make me laugh so much, even tho im a fan :p
btw, i think the guy who plays Edward (Robert Pattinson) isnt really that hot. He looks kinda stoned or something xD

A little off topic, but kinda relevant: Orbit UK have a new cover for the UK edition to tie in with the film:
Thought you might be interested!

My wife has read them and loved them. She tried to get me to read them, but I was having none of it. I did compromise and say I would go see the movie with her. That pacified her.
