I have just finished reading the first book of this set, and I must say it was a damn good story. I really enjoyed it. Hobb's style is very smooth and well paced, and the story was one that I got into. And even though I'm not too big on first person perspective, it hooked me. I came to care about his characters.

So, just wondering, how are the rest of them? I'm going to read them regardless, but I'm curious as to whether or not you folks enjoyed them.

They're all excellent. Some people seem to feel that the third book drags a bit though, something I personally cannot agree with it.

I loved these books dearly. Fitz rules http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey Mithf, thanks! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

I loved The Farseer as well, as evidenced by part of my name. Hobb is probably one of the top writers in the genre.

It's been a a couple of years (and hundreds of books) since I read the series but it remains one of the best I've read.

You may want to move on to The Liveship Traders after reading the remainging two books in Farseer.

The first one I liked too; the other two I hated.

The world-building is good. But the story really drags from bk 2 and after, becomes repetive, tiring, and down-right dippresing.

Though, of course, read them and make up your own mind. Many people seem to like them (a mystery to me... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif ).

I enjoyed this series so much that I have recently bought the first book of the sequel series, Fool's Errand, in hardcover. Hobb's writing style is pretty easy to follow, and her world building skills are excellent. Farseer does have sort of a dark feel to it, though. Her Liveship Traders series is somewhat "happier", for lack of a better term.

I liked them all, but they are on the dark side but you need a little darkness it makes the story more entense.

I loved them! I also loved the Liveship Traders, although it took me until book three of the Traders to realize that they're set in the same world. Duh.
Robin Hobb is great. Yay!

Well, the Farseer books are going to be my next read. I have to admit, I'm a little hesitant... I really didn't enjoy Liveship Book 1 - in fact, I couldn't bring myself to finish it. I hope Farseer proves to be different...

I'm about 100 pages from the end of the third book in The Farseer Trilogy and am both excited (can't wait to see what happens) and sad. I'm really going to miss the characters and Hobb's writing. Personally I give my thumbs up to the series - it is one of the best I have read, and I haven't found that the third book drags. In fact, I'm reading it faster than I read the first two.

Basically, I can't praise it enough!
