Looking for a film title

Hi - New here But thought I would continue my search in this forum!

I am looking for the title of a film released in the 40's, 50's or 60's.
The movie story as I remember it was that a number of humans were given a gift that they had a choice to use. But they had no idea of the consequences. Anyway as I remember some of the them used the thing(three small vials as I remember) and it ended killing all of the nasty / evil people on earth.

Was hoping someone could help me with the title as I would like to see if there was a copy on DVD somewhere.

Thanks for efforts actually found what I was looking for. It was "the 27th Day"

Search for it and if you get a chance have a look, it is a little more thought provoking than some and would translate well into our era.
