Looking to start new series

Hello,

I'm new here I've poked around a little bit and already read the Mistborn series based on some of the threads I read here, which turned out to be a pretty good read. Thanks to everyone. But only a three book series so I'm finding myself in the same situation looking for another series. Here is a list of series I've read or am currently reading but waiting on new releases.

Robert Jordan - Wheel of TIme
George R.R. Martin - Game of Thrones series
Terry Goodkind - Sword of Truth series
Robin Hobb - Farseer Trilogy, Liveship Trilogy and Tawny Man Trilogy
Brandon Sanderson - Mistborn Trilogy
Terry Brooks - Sword of Shannara Series
Raymond E. Fiest - Riftwar Saga, The Empire Trilogy, Serpent War Saga

Well I've read more but I can't seem to remember everything I've read right now but the above short list should give you an idea of the kinds of books I like to read.

Any suggestions out there on series to read preferably series that the Authurs have already finished after Jordan, Martin and Goodkind it was kind of nice to read Sanderson series without having to wait 2-5 years for another book.

Perhaps Brent Week's Way of the Shadow series?

i'm just gonna list a few completed and generally pretty high regarded series.

rob will pop in pretty soon i guess and give a few links to recommendation threads...

R. Scott Bakker - Prince of Nothing
Joe Abercrombie - First Law
Greg Keyes - Kingdoms of Thorn and Bones
Kate Elliot - Crown of Stars
James Barclay - The Raven Series (7 books)

If i were you i'd go with abercrombie first, then greg keyes. bakker is no easy read, but worthwhile

search in the forums about these recommendations and you'll find in-depth discussions about these series.

have fun

R. Scott Bakker - Prince of Nothing
Joe Abercrombie - First Law

These two I have to second, especially Abercrombie, probabably some of the best fantasy written in years.

Although he has not finished written the series I have to recommend Steven Eriksons Malazan book of the Fallen. There are currently eight books published with the last two in the series coming in a couple of years, hopefully.

David Gemmels Drenai Saga, although stand alone novels, very good books.

R A Salvatores books on Drizzt Do'Urden are really enjoyable in my opinion.

I'm currently reading Glen Cooks Chronicles on the Black Company and they are really good.

Hi BigDave,
Seeing as no one has yet mentioned it to you yet, I would offer Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, by Tad Williams. It's a finished set and if you like the author, you can look at his Otherland series (SciFi), The War of the Flowers (stand alone) and/or his Shadowmarch series.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I went with Brent Weeks first, I'm about 30 chapters into The Way of the Shadow and I'm enjoying it. Thanks again
