It's more complicated, the hardcover edition was split in three in the US, but only in two in the UK. Don't know about Germany, easy to check, there are 11 stories in the whole thing. So start counting.

Ok so they can't call it legends II without confusing alot of people so umm what can they call it? Hard to top Legends.

"-insert title of Jordan shortstory here-" by Robert Jordan and some other stuff! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

Heck thats the only reason I brought the first one http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif.

How about "new Legends" or "More legends"
or "more boring fluff by Jordan and interesting stories from Hobb and Martin" http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

Well the important bit is the name Jordan not what comes before or after it http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif.

Which proves my old point that Jordanytes would buy anything with his name on it, including the Phone-book of Peking in Mandarin, of course even that would be more exciting than Path of daggers http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

The fundamental problem with Jordan is that he's a poor writer. He has little ability to write proper character point of views. If you observe his writing closely, he always inserts his own narrative godlike voice into the thoughts of his characters. He doesn't maintain a first, second or third point of view.

That's just one of many issues. Jordan has also pushed himself up against the wall, so to speak, by creating a plot that doesn't appear to have an end in sight, nor one that always seems to make logical sense.

He doesn't seem to understand that we don't need to see the certain actions of certain characters. The Forsaken appear to be much less threatening when they're given screen time, because they're humanized.

If Jordan truly intended for readers to fear the Forsaken, he should have have shown as little of them as possible. I never thought a great deal of psychological insight was needed to understand this, but perhaps I was wrong.

To compliment this, he writes about characters whose insights are irrelevant to the main narrative, and whose interruption disrupt the flow of the novels and contributes little to the novel as a whole. It is not necessary that Jordan display the thoughts of Elaida, rebel Aiel, or Aes Sedai of tertiary importance.

What would be more appropriate would be to have events occur off-screen and then mentioned in passing. There is no need to write an 800 page novel of which only 350 or 400 pages are truly necessary. We need not read about the side adventures of characters as they ride their horses through the country-side.

I have always felt that Lord of Chaos (which some call one of the finest novels in the WoT series) was the most synthetic and wasteful of the books. The book could have been 300 pages if properly written and/or edited.

Unfortunately, Jordan's editor is his wife, and so I presume that her personal feelings towards her husband disrupt her ability to maintain an objective criticism of Jordan's work.

The fundamental problem with Qin is that he doesn't like fantasy imo. He also forgets to add imo. He would never add imho as he isnt humble imo.
