Who would that be?

I'm trying to think of some but they usually are mages as well. Gerald Tarrant for one. Elric of Melnibone.

Perhaps Waylander the Slayer from Gemmell. Ser Arthur Dayne from ASOIAF.

Guthwulf from MS&T
The Unknown Warrior from James Barclay's Chronicles of the Raven
and

Caine from Stover's Overworld novels.

Looks like Ash gonna make my list too!

From aSoIaF: I can't help "liking" The Hound (I know, I must be sick http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif)

I liked the Hound too.

Also liked Aragorn and Faramir quite well.

What about Orlando Bloom as Legolas? The way he shoots off ten arrows in one nanosecond, wow! Cool as a cat, that guy!

Yes, I was thinking about cool archers as excellent warriors as well. In that case Legolas Greenleaf certainly comes to mind. And Robin of Locksley.

Archers are definitely top of the list, with swordmen as a close second.

Gunners are out, & I haven't made my mind up about axe-wielders yet http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Mith., if you like archers you should read J.V. Jones' "A Cavern of Black Ice" ... that has a very special archer in it and ... lots of magic as well!

The best warrior, although not my favourite, would probably be Richard Rhal... he can take on 30 Baka Man Mana guards, who can kill 50 well armed warriors each... that's about 1500 people he can kill in one fight!

The coolest would be Drizzt Do'urden, from Salvatore's AD&D books... those twin scimitars are very satisfying.
