Hello there Humans, I'm new here clutching a gift offering from my world, but how do I hand it over to you?
I'm a long tried, and very tested, and testy, British writer primarily interested in film and TV script writing to build up a list of work for future production, but recently I've written a short story based on my interpretation of Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" which I'm here to give away to anyone who wants it.
Now I do appreciate that you shouldn't advertise, so let's open the gates to other comments on how best to share my work with all of you for your amusement, entertainment and to lighten these dark economic days.
Do you want to know more? Let's all chat and be friends.
:)

Self-Promotion - Marketing New Novels(url removed)
All 25 pages of it!??
:)
I do remember browsing through that one when I first registered hence my reluctance at any form of promotion for the story here.
Obviously I appreciate everyone's desires to participate in the discussion process and just chatting about all things SF, and I have no intention of spamming it down peoples throats, so at the moment I'll have to wait and see what else develops as I explore the forum.

Okay, I figured out one option.....
I have placed a 4-page extract in the Stories Section of the site and you can enjoy it here (http://www.sffworld.com/community/story/3602p0.html).
I estimate that four pages is enough not to bore people with too much slaughter and mayhem, and as one commentator has said, it's too long to be classed as a short story.
Anyone who wants to read the rest will have to ask nicely.

Thanks for that suggestion, I'll certainly look into what it can do for me. I already incorporate a copyright licence in the distribution - you can copy and share it with all your friends, as long as you do not edit it, use it directly or otherwise for any kind of income-generation without prior, written agreement. All film, TV and other reproduction rights are reserved by the writer (me), and so on and so forth.
I'm distributing the story freely to everyone who want to enjoy it as a sample of my work and skill, to raise awareness of other plans I have, like saving a small blue-green planet you might be familiar with.
