Is it possible to put into preferences 4 each user a way to adjust the times that the messages were posted at? What I'm saying is that when i post at 6PM here, it says i posted at midday on the post. Is there a way to adjust 4 time difference.
Another minor thing- in profile, there's a space for ICQ no., but not msn messenger username- i use msn now because icq has the annying feature of being the only program which crashes my computer every so often.

Not to sure about the time thing, nor the MSN thing either... for that matter...
... but you could use your MSN passport address in your email contact box... I am assuming from your post you would like to invite chat on MSN... if you do this, I know some of the member would 'search' you out on MSN, I am br_cadfael@hotmail.com

Yeah add some hacks http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif. There pretty easy to add. Though this board hasnt been updated for along time so it might be hard to find the correct hacks for this version. 5.39c http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif current version is 6.2 beta http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif.
Oh as for the time thing, UBB doesnt have that option and I don't think there are any hacks that add it.

I guess everything is possible, but at the same time I must say that adding these "hacks" to the board assuming that they exists is not very high on the priority list. Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll certainly have them in mind for the future.
...and yes Caldazar having the newest version would certainly be nice, don't have the money to buy it though, but if anyone feel for donating some money http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif.

Well I have a current VB licence (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/index.php?s=483a6b4ca594c80cb8971a02c30f1136) i'm currently not using that I could give you. But changing to VB would probably piss people off as it looks so different to ubb even though it has heaps of neat features. Plus your server might not support it.

It would probably just be easiest to just enter "MSN: fluffy-bunny" or whatever, in the ICQ line.
Another option is to try out one of the many ICQ clones available. I use Trillian, and am quite happy with it. It's one interface that does AIM, ICQ, MSN, Y! all at the same time.

Thanks for the offers to both Caldazar and Lord Raziel, this really sounds great http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif. I'll have to look into what the server supports of databases as well as have a look at the features the different bulletin boards have to offer. ...and then I'll get back to you http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif.

I've now done some checking and as it turns out running VBulletin with the current hosting provider doesn't seem like a good idea, although I must say that VBulletin definitely seems like a much better product than UBB.
Upgrading the UBB to a newer version would mean some new features, but at the moment I'm not prepared to take the cost involved. So what I'm saying is that we'll stick with the current forum for a while longer at least.

Any plans for running a "Cash-Back" offer like some credit card companies do? http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif
