Has anyone read any of it? Is it any good?

I read Necroscope, the first book in the series. It was okay, but I finished it with mixed feelings. It was a cool idea, with some guy being able to talk to the dead, while having to fight vampires, but it sort of fell apart in the end.
The guy(I forgot his name) suddently gained some new powers of space/time travel, which gave him the ability to do just about anything, and that sort of ruined it for me. Still, I might read the second novel in the series.

I read nearly the whole thing. Even got into the vampire world series. It was cool but gets really repetitive. Give his Titus Crow series a shot. That is an interesting take on the Cthulu Mythos.

I couldn't get past the first page -- some description of a hotel that was the best example of bad writing you'd find outside of a Bulwer-Lytton contest.
But lots of people like the series, and the friend who loaned me the book said it's very involving. Maybe I'll try again, from page two.
If you're looking for a really good vampire series, I'd recommend Kim Newman's stuff.

Scary- I'm in exactly the same boat, with the same opinions as bookfreak13.
