Well maybe it is, it was written in an emperical sense though, who knows really, this stuff isnt really scientifically provable. Anyways...the author is the legendary occult practiconer, Alester Crowley. Check out The magical world of Aliester Crowley to start of with, some strange and disturbing stuff in there, but is sure is interesting...

Well, I actually thought that the weird and wonderful Mr Crowley invented tarot cards or something?

Not to sure on that, Crowley lived in the late 19th century though, and I think tarot cards have a history that pre-dates that time period. Remember our ancestors were more superstitious then we ever could be!
Also The other day I came into possesion of some voice recordings of crowley, but get this: They were recorded on WAX CYLINDERS!!. It was an amazing thing to hear audio from that time period!
