Hey, all! I'm currently reading Vernor Vinge's The Peace War (soon to be followed by Marooned in Realtime). It's really good (though not quite as mind-blowingly awesome as the Zones of Thought masterpieces).
My question is: Are older Vinge books - Tatja Grimm's World and The Witling - worth the read?

These are both early works. Tatja Grimm's World is a fix-up novel (the first stories were written in the 1960's). The story reads a lot like fantasy so not all sf readers would enjoy this one.
The Witling was Vinge's first real novel (1976). It's a typical sf story of that age of two stranded space travellers on a low technology level planet.
Both these novels are enjoyable. However don't expect anything near the quality of Fire or Deepness. These books have been reprinted several times, especially The Witling so they should not be too difficult to find on Ebay or Abebooks.
