Hey, I was wondering what everyone thinks of the changes to the site. Personal I like these formers over the old, but that is just one opinion. The added capabilities to those putting up posts are very usefull. While changing the Member to Senior Member was a smart move.

So how about you guys write away.

Well having used VBulletin for the past four months as a moderator (The forum I work on was updated in March) I must say I love what you can do and being able to post pictures up is super.......

A little drawing done by a dear friend...... It is based on the events in my first book......(which is out hunting a publisher *g*)

Well I like the Emotcons,I mean who wouldn't love smilies. Some of my best loved personal emotcons are:
http://www.plauder-smilies.de/love/baby2.gif
http://www.plauder-smilies.de/happy/roflmao.gif
http://www.plauder-smilies.de/smheart.gif

But really there are so many good ones out there.
I like the option of changing text color, it is a very nice option!

But really all the bells and wistles don't mean alot if the posting on the forum is poor, which is not at all true here. Nope only the highest quality spam is posted here! But other than an arrent troll or two (yes I am one of those trolls) now and then, you have a wonderful place here. You have a group of great Mods (Most of whom I plan to kill off in the next week or two!) who enjoy what they do while having a good time doing it. I greatly enjoy the lengthly debates over Jorden this and Hobbs that, Eddings healed my dying cat or the always popular LTOR dribble when everyone knows that Norman was the greatest ever! (You just gotta love that GOR series ;)) Add to the mix, creditable authors in their own right who frequent these halls. All the industry insight, experience and conections can really help the budding writer or at least get you a cup of Java at the local coffee pub. Or you could always just Spam Out here in the general section.

I'm telling you this sight had alot to offer before, now its got even more.

My very small and insignificant gripe about the new forum look (and it's common to all bulletin boards using vbulletin) are that the margins don't line up on the left of the content of the post. I don't know why the margin thing bothers me so much, but it does. It's due to the fact that usernames are different sizes and some use pictures while others don't, but I wish it could be at a set size so posts line up.

The other thing, that isn't a problem but could be, is that I'm afraid people are going to be posting pictures all the time now. And even with people using them under their names it could add significantly to the download time. Since I live in rural Iowa and can only get a 26.4 kbps max connection, increase in download speed means a lot to me. Plus I tend to like things to be simple and functional. Oh well. Can't stop improvements on my account!

Otherwise, very good.

That is all. :)

Glad you all like it...there may be some teething problems, but the forum has really come of age now!

This is a piece I did awhile back. It's the hero of my Hand of War short story, Ian Carmichael

This works...

The new forum is easier to read than the old one.

I like.

Carmicheal... Tripod will not allow you to link to pictures on their servers... I took the liberty of tracing your link... and putting the picture on my server... and linking to that. I do allow it!!!... :DDennizM:D

WOW! :D

Well, I just got through perusing the forums and I love the upgrade. It's going to take a bit of getting used to, but it looks pretty easy to use.

the only thing I dislike about the new forum is that u can only use 50x50 pixels avatars

I will ask if that can be changed to 65X65, LePeze...thanks for your feedback. :)
