Why is it that there is no content discussion here ?

Ever since my only fantasy-reading friend has moved to another country, I have no one to really discuss my favorite books with.

I have noticed that the discussions in this forum are very "hi level" meaning that we talk in general about the authors, weapons, magic, and so forth, but there is never any real discussion about the books / plots / events / characters etc'.

I understand the need not to ruin books for people who haven't read them yet. However I believe that if the subject is clear enough, people who haven't read the book and don't want to know what happened can stay clear from these topics.

There is content discussion on this forum(not much). You must search a bit better or start your own topic. And never forget to use ***********SPOILER ALERT*********** when you discuss content.

I started a bunch of content discussions about A Song of Ice and Fire, and Fitz acted like he was going to have kittens (too many threads, he said), which was discouraging, so I haven't done it in a while.

Hey, I resent that remark.

I hate cats. I hate kittens because the become cats!

LOL :D

That's pretty funny man. (Although I like cats a lot.)

So how 'bout it Fitz? Now that I started a Covenant discussion can I get back to flooding the forum with Martin?

Just pick up the other conversation, it's already up here.

Actually FF... I can see where Saint John is coming from here... he/she is not asking if we like or dislike 'Covenant'... he/she wants to discuss the plot... i.e. the content. Our favourite chapters, sections... and so forth... and I do think there is a difference here.

The current one is just asking what we think... and why... and spoiler should not be posted in THAT topic.

I say okay... but make sure your subect title incudes the words 'Content' and 'Spoilers'. If not... it will be in danger of removal or clousure by the Mods...

Now... before you go ahead and do it... the above is only my opinion... lets wait to see what my colleagues have to say... they are not usually backwards in coming forwards.

I would love to have a discussion about the plots and characters of my favourite books but I seem to be way out of step with you main stream fantasy readers its been years since I read Covenant all I realy remember about it was lepoursy and that I didn't enjoy it. The same with Martin I read his first book in the Ice set and found way way to grim to interest me.

There seems to be a pretty lively discussion about Gemmell which I will check out next time I am on line maybe that will be good..

I was suggesting saintjon pick up the Martin conversation, though it is a bit longish so....

With every post if spoiler is included, ample space should be provided like
