Can't remember the title or author. Basic plot is space pilot exiled/banished to a jungle planet where non-natives don't last long. Planet has humanoid race as well as native race of big green aliens that don't interact with humanoids. Exiled pilot meets up with local girl who hires him as help pulling carts through the jungle, he ends up saving the village and they fall in love.
This is driving me a little nuts, any help would be great

Sentenced to Prism - Alan Dean Foster ?

Sure you're not thinking about "Midworld" by ADF?

Maybe, they have all become a bit of a blur in my memory.

Well that book doesn't ring any bells but I have read Sentenced to Prism and Midworld. It isn't either of them. Sorry I was no real help.

The only other "Jungley" book I have encountered is "The Winds of Altair" by Ben Bova, but I never finished it so it's a really wild guess.
