I am currently reading The Grey Seer by C. L. Werner. Excellent dark sword and sorcery novel. I noticed that even though most sword and sorcery went away in the beginning of 1980s, there is still a lot of it published by Warhammer folks.

Thanquol the Grey Seer started his career as chief villain in the Felix & Gotrek novels. I have to admit I also have a soft spot for this fellow : he is craven, megalomaniac, cruel and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
It's clear I'm not the only fan of Thanquol. The guys at warhammer probably decided to give him his own spin-off because he's so popular with the readers. BTW, for Felix & Gotrek fans, Felix's former girlfriend Ulrika will also get her own spin-off series later this year.

I will need to grab that one. Warhammer has really taken over every other shared world fiction for me. Currently reading Eisenhorn which isn't bad but I think I liked Gaunt's Ghosts better.
