Help finding a recommendation...

I just received a recommendation from a friend today to read a book, but he doesn't remember the title. Here's what he does remember:

Somehow, the earth's atmosphere gets screwed up and the entire earth gets really cold. This guy and and his father live in New York and they try to go to California, in search a hotter place.

Also, apparently the author never used any punctuation to differentiate between dialog and thoughts. He also never mentioned the characters' names.

I hope this is enough for you guys to figure it out....

Thanks!

It sounds very much like the book I just finished a couple of hours ago - The Road by Cormac McCarthy. An absolutely brilliant novel, which one the Pulitzer Prize.

That sounds like the one! Haha, what a coincidence that you just finished the book I was looking for.

Thanks, Rob.

The Road never mentioned place names , only that they were travelling to the coast. And it's not the Earth itsewlf thats gotten colder, it is simply the winter they are running from (though the setting is post apocolyptic).

It is truley an amazing novel .

Oh, well that's what my friend said. I guess he was just extrapolating.
