Just finished "Murder in LaMut" by Feist and Rosenberg. It's a Mystery novel:( . It was an ok book but ah well a little fighting might have spiced it up a bit. Oh and working out who did it isn't to hard. It's not as good as "Honoured Enemy" imo but not to far of it.

Anyone know what "Talon of a SilverHawk" will be about?

ah well this is the synopsis from amazon.uk and well it doesn't sound like it's even set on Midkemia.

Brand new epic fantasy from the master of the genre. Among the Orosini tribe, the traditional manhood ritual begins three days before the Midsummer's celebration. Alone, the child must survive the wilderness; exploring remote climes, contemplating the lore of his family and clan, his tribe and nation, and seeking the wisdom of his ancestors in a search to understand his place in the universe and discover his manhood name. Kielianapuna -- red squirrel -- is struggling. For two days and two nights he has waited for the gods to grant him a vision, the key to their plan for him, but so far he remains cold, lonely and despairing, and on the brink of giving up. Returning to his village, nameless and still a child, he stumbles upon devastation. His village is being burned, his people slaughtered, but as he hurries to help his family Kieli is struck from above. Sharp claws pierce his shoulders as a rare silver hawk lands and takes flight again just as swiftly. His vision or a warning? Left for dead by the murderers of his people Kieli is found by Robert

It could be Robert D'Lylse, the magician who is with pug on sorcerers Isle.

I just checked it out at amazon.
Isn't the "conclave of shadows" what Pug called his little group and war against Nalar?

I just finished Murder in LaMut last night and I must admit to being a bit shocked. I know they tell you in there opening Acknowledgements how great it is that Joel Rosenberg can use some of his fav characters on Midkemia. But to have the entire plot copied out of Hour of the Octopuss, whole chapters lifted from Not Quite the Three Musketeers well as I say I was a bit Shocked.

Raymond E Feist and Joel Resenberg are both way up at the top of my list of favourite Authors and I was just about chewing the furniture in anticipation waiting to see what Joel Resenberg would do on the world of Midkemia, which I consider the most vivid, detailed and just plain intresting world in fantasy. After reading Murder in LaMut I am sad to say that I am still waiting to find out.
