Sara Douglass?

Has anyone out there read any of Sara Douglass' WAYFARER REDEMPTION series (three books thus far)? What thinkest thou? Is her style of writing and use of mutliple perspective in storytelling effective? Appealing? Confusing? Do you find the storyline trite? Inventive? A sad re-hashing of every other fantasy novel you've ever read? Is the pacing handled well? Too slow? Or, as I think, wasy too friggin' fast?

I love this series.
It is one of my favourites but the last book of the wayfarers is really weird.
By looking at my user name you can see who my favourite character is.
I love the multi-POV in the chapters, it gives you insight to what all the characters are thinking.

A little.Inventive? Not too inventive, though I did think the Icarii race were interesting.A sad re-hashing of every other fantasy novel you've ever read? I wouldn't say a sad re-hashing, that's a bit harsh. I would say she mines alot of the themes prevalent in fantasy (Prophesized savior, dark evil in the shadows). There are similarities to some of TOR's other BFFs such as WOT and SOT and BFF in general. I think Douglass is a much better writer than Goodkind. What thinkest thou? I did an official review of StarMan for the site. Overall the series was above average. There were some annoyances, don't know that I will read any more by her, though.

(BFF=Big Fat Fantasy, authors like NoGoodkind, Jordan, Brooks, Eddings, etc.)

Yeah, Fitz, her writing is better than Goodkind's...then again most simians could pound uncontrollably on a typewriter and produce better prose than Goodkind.
