Codex of Alera character questions

I am almost finished the first book, around 32 chapters into it and I have a few questions regarding the main characters.

I thought this book would focus more on Tavi since the back of the book used him for the "introduction", but I find his role very small, I just finished the chapter where he got out of the Wax Forrest and was hoping to read more about him, but I see the next few chapters are mainly about Amara/Isanna.

Does Tavi get a bigger role in the next books? I know hes somewhat of a important character, just doesnt get the chapter numbers that usually follow the important characters.

My last question... Does anyone know any sites with a few pictures of characters? I was looking around but couldnt find anything, I usually like see a general picture of a character even though I might have seen them differently at first.

The books that I have read usually have some type of picture of the characters on the cover, but this one doesnt really have a clear one. Harry Potter series has him and his friends on the cover, SoT had Richard on a few of them, and A Song of Ice and Fire has cards and a website dedicated to this type of stuff..

thanks in advance!

Yes Tavi plays a larger role in the upcomming books. The story still jumps through three storylines, but Tavi does become a major player.

In book 3 you find out who Tavi's parents really are. Very interesting!

I have no seen any sites with pictures, but honestly, I haven't looked.

Tavi is the main character, and does get a prominent role from the second book onward.

I could be wrong since I only just finished the book two but I am pretty sure I know exactly who the parents are. I think I figured it out in the book one or maybe near start of the book two. So far I have found books hinting way too much in too obvious way. It seems I am almost never surprised since every "surprise" is so heavily suggested earlier in book.

When you get to book 3, I'd be curious who you thought his parents were vs. who they actually are. I got one parent right, but the other parent wrong.

Yeah it was fairly obvious. Same thing with Fade. Though I didn't know exactly who he was if was fairly obvious he wasn't some scarred retard.

Careful, gentlemen. There are some pretty big spoilers in this thread right about now. :D

I just finished Codex Alera. It is decent but not great. I liked Tavi and Kitai but other 4 main characters I didn't much care.

My main problem with series was that it was like watching american TV show. There were lot of cliffhangers where character was left just about dead and then I was forced to read about other events. I don't think that is very good idea in book. It tends to ruing the reading flow for me. Also main good guys seemed to be invulnerable and bad guys seemed to repop again and again. Just like watching american TV series.
