Hyperion anyone?

Has anyone read the books by Dan Simmons on Hyperion? I was reading posts about Kay, Gaimon, McKillip, and Wolfe and it occurred to me that this was a very good read. It has been a few years since I have read it, but I would be interested if anyone else has enjoyed this book. I really need to reread this book as I am not sure if it falls under fantasy or science fiction. It seemed to me to be a bit of both.

Excellent Sue. More Sf than Fantasy though. There's a thread in the Sf section on it.

Actually, Crazy Reader, I know what you mean. I had a copy of Hyperion lying around for ages..looked good, but kept being pushed down the pile. I read Endymion first! I was then hooked...brilliant books.

I was going over the Hyperion novels and realized I had NEVER READ "The Rise of Endymion" I have picked it up along with Stover's "Blade of Tyshalle," Maxine Mcarthur's "Time Past," and Jacqueline Carey's "Kushiel's Dart." So I may not be around for awhile.....
