Any of you guys and girls have any fantasy related, or other kind of tatoo?
I don't but I'm thinking about getting one of an angel, and I'm thinking long and hard about it...

Before you ever consider marring your body in such a gruesome way, consider the following thought: Is this something you'll want to have on your body twenty years from now, when the colour is fading and it looks like a big splotch on your body?

I've thought of getting a tattoo many times but that's always what stops me, thinking what it's going to look like when I'm sixty.

Not only that, but what I think is cool right now I might think is dumb twenty years from now. I'm a completely different person now than I was even 5 years ago, so what's to say I won't change my ways again?

Too bad they don't make tattoos that last only a few years or so. I'd like to get one of a horse, the big snarling kind with a flowing mane and glowing eyes. Kind of cheesy, I know. That's why I would probably regret it the morning after.:)

Just a word the process of tattooing is a painful one. The tattoo is not done "on the skin" but onto the layers beneath the "skin" It is like having a needle inserted and dragged through your flesh for anything up to an hour.....

Once done you are stuck with it. If you have it removed you have a scar.

Also, if you decided to get one make sure it is from a reputable tattoer, not some seedy back street shop. Infection etc from badly sterlised equipment can result.

End of lecture.......

I have a couple of tattoos, one of which is fantasy related. It is of an Angel of death. It was done by the president of the British Tattoists association 11 years ago and it looks as good now as the day it was done.

I love the picture and I can't see that I would change in the future, though I made sure that both are in places that cannot be seen unless I want them to be.

I would echo Holbrook though. It does hurt, anyone who tells you otherwise is lying and it is possible for them to become infected which not only hurts like hell but it can destroy the picture leaving you with a permanent blotch instead of the tottoo you were after.

If you are going to have one done, think very carefully about what you want and make sure you go to a reputable artist and look after it well for the first couple of weeks.

yes. this is a sickly tatoo story:
a while ago, my sister got a tatoo of some flaming skull with green flames and blood (no idea...!). well she took good care of it, as she does. But she said that one day she took of the wrapping and her whole skin came of with it. Now she just has this huge ugly scar on her wrist.
If i got a tatoo, which im not totally against, it wouldnt be anything of-the-moment. (ex: flaming skull) so i still like them and if i had the inards to commit to it i would definitly consider.

Ugh... I watched a film called requiem of a dream yesterday, and I'm not qite sure I want anything on my arm after that. Daaamn but that thing was bad.
Anyway, I will only get one if it is a pefect design, with perfect colors, and if it will look good. And only get it done by a good tattoer. But I will bear all in mind, and thanks fo the warnings.
