Hey loving the forum. Been recently devouring Stross' oeuvre and really like the comp sci background patter.
Can anyone recommend other authors with comp sci backgrounds? Or recommendations by subject? (Math, Physics etc...)
Cheers.

Neal Stephenson - physics, computer science
David Brin - astrophysics
For these two, their expertise is very evident in their work and they are both excellent authors.

I've read Snowcrash and loved it, but which of his other stuff would you say was the most science/tech heavy?

I also liked Snow Crash the best, although Cryptonomicon was close. Cryptonomicon has an impressive amount of computer science and some economics. Zodiac has a lot of chemistry, and is a pretty good thriller. Quicksilver has a lot of historical science, if you're into that. That's all I've read of his books, and I'd recommend them in that order.
