If you've already self-published your books and they aren't moving well, you will have trouble attracting a publisher for them.

Your best bet would be to contact a group specializing in children's books--either a local organization (if you were in Texas, I would say Writers League of Texas, which has a subgroup of children's book writers) at the state or regional level or the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (I hope a link to this organization will be acceptable: http://www.scbwi.org/) which has a ton of information for people who write children's books. As it is a very specialized and different market, you will find much more of use to you there. You might also look for conventions and conferences intended to serve children's book writers that are in your area.

Good luck!

My wife is a budding children's author (we got back from the Bolgna conference in time to miss the volcano). It's a very, very different kettle of fish to the SF/F market, so there won't be much we can tell you here. I'd go to the SCBWI site and join or lurk. Not that you can't benefit by reading and posting here, of course!
