Who is Florence Verbell Brown ?

I just finished reading bride of the dark one, a sci-fi/pirate/action/romance short story, written by one Florence Verbell Brown (available here (http://manybooks.net/titles/brownfv3130631306.html)), published in 1952 by Planet Stories magazine, but i cannot find any information on the author other than that. I also cannot seem to be able to find any other stories written by her.

Does anybody know who this mysterious Florence Verbell Brown is ? Has she published more stories elsewhere, or is this the only one ? Is her name a pseudonym, and of whom ?
