"Interracial" Dating in Fantasyland?

I'm sure there must be titles out there that involve romance between different fantasy "races" (for lack of a better word). You know, a love affair between a dwarf lad and an elf maiden, between a goblin lout and a troll trollop, and so on. For the life of me, I can't think of any such plots/sub-plots. I guess I've been out of the fantasy game for too long. Does anyone know of any titles/authors that have dealt with this plotline? I would imagine that romances of the human/other-than-human kind (man/elf-princess) are more common. Thus, I'm especially interested in affairs between two different non-humans. It seems like the human/other relationship already has a strong pedigree, going back to all sorts of myths. Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated . . . .

Try Dragondoom by Dennis L. McKiernan. It's a spectacular book by itself, plus it qualifies for your request :) by having a relationship between a dwarf and an elf maiden.

Inter species relationships? Don't we consider this obcene in our society? Why not write a book about the love of a man for his dog.

Don't get me started with the babies that are created by these unions. I'd still like to know how Spock came to be. He has copper based blood for gods sake. Ours id iron. C'mon.

I mean can we actually go out and fornicate with a monkey and have a half man half monkey creature?

Note to self, experiment with monkeys as half man half monkey creature sounds like a certain money maker.

There is a distinct difference between fornicating and breeding however kegasaurus...

At any rate, I don't think the characters in PSS of different races that fornicate together are capable of breeding together to have children.

Which is more what I would think we are talking about when we say "relationship".

The best inter species book I read was about a squirell and a bat. Theyloved eachother gurtly, and it was a beautifully written story.
The oaken throne by I'm-not-so-sure-who
But there are three in that series.

A mule is the offspring of a horse and a donkey. However, the mules are unable to reproduce. The lack of reproduction is why the mule is not considered a species. Wouldn't an interesting plot have a prince elf and a princess dwarf (or someother combination) fall in love and have a nonfertile offspring that was heir to the thrown. Think of the politicals that could follow.....

The "A Man of His Word" (http://www.daveduncan.com/books.html) series by Dave Duncan has an "interracial" romance at it's core. Duncan, however, treats his various races as subspecies of an overall human species. The main character is a faun-jotunn hybrid. The object of his affection is also a mutt. They are good books with an interesting take on magic.
