I've not read his earlier book, Wind up girl. I see his newest book (Ship Breaker) gets all 5 star ratings on Amazon. I don't see a review on this site yet. Synopsis sounds interesting.

Anyone read this yet? What did you think?

I'm halfway through it now. I'll post more when I'm done. So far, it's a little less dense than his adult work, but quite good.

I wanted to give this one a shot, what with my loving The Windup Girl. But the fact that it's YA sort of pushed me away. . .

Pat, I know you don't like YA, but other than being a bit lighter on plot and having a teenage protagonist, the book is very Bacigalupi. I'm actually a little surprised the book is being marketed as YA.
