Hey there! First time commenting, I've been trying to come up all night with this old sci-fi novel that has been bugging the hell out of me. I don't remember much (not really sure what most of the plot was about) but here's what I do.

-A Supervolcano (or possibly Supergeyser?) would wipe out all human life on Earth.
- There is a Filipino femme fatale character, calls herself Sheba, and she kills her foster father after he shows sexual interest in her. At one point I believe she kills a priest.
-The ending involves one of those scenarios where Earth's elites flee in a spaceship. However the planet they land on (possibly Mars? maybe not) has no food or settlement, and is completely covered (like stacked on top of each other) with enormous cockroaches.

I realise I haven't given much to go on here (in fact I may have mixed up two different novels, know that I think about it), but if anybody remembers something vaguely like this, help would be greatly appreciated by my ailing memory!
