hi everyone:D

i just discovered that not only are scifi novels of natural scientific vampires from myths but also of others creatures like werewolf, etc....

of vampires i only had found this ones:

-homo vampiris from peter watts
-Desmodus by Melanie Tem
-I Am Legend by Richard Matheson
-The Strain by Guillermo del Toro
-The M-113 creature aka salt vampire from old star trek series
-Wraith from Stargate
etc.........

and so far found one scifi novel about natural werewolf:

Darker Than You Think by Jack Williamson

and if anyone knows the name of sequel short story by Poul Anderson of this novel, please tell me in order to search for info.

after realize all this i have a question.....

are there any more scifi novels, movies, tv series, etc of mythical beings that have a very natural, Darwinian and biological explanation of their species?

for examples, werewolf, unicorns, greek gods(and other myths gods), mermaids, Triton, nymph, elfs, etc.....

i hope you can help me with this please, bye bye:)

Best vampire novel ever - The Empire Of Fear by Brian Stableford.

(apart from Dracula of course...)

Maybe you're thinking of Poul Anderson's Operation Chaos? It has witches and werewolves, as I recall.

There's also George R. R. Martin's Fevre Dream which can count I am Legend as a precursor; again, scientifically rationalized vampires.

The Hunger by Whitley Strieber as well as the others novels i think they also go with this trope.

It's been too long since I read this or the Leman story. I do recall Strieber made a distinction between 'wolfen' and 'werewolf', and I think Leman gives a vague rationale for the vampire. By the way, "The Pilgrimage of Clifford M." is a short story, not a novel, and quite a good short story, at that.

Another scientifically rationalized vampire appears in Suzy McKee Charnas' The Vampire Tapestry.

err....thanks. what i did? sorry my understanding in English is bad, that is why i don't understand what you just said.

ahem, other examples:

-novel,manga and anime trinity blood of vampires with nanotechnology.
-angels that feed on humans from anime aquarion mecha style.

i also forgot to say that I'm looking for scientifically rationalized angels too.
