This has probably been done before, but what kinds of pets (if any) does everyone have? (Can you tell I'm bored tonight?)

We have a very annoying Sheltie (sheepdog) named Gid who never stops barking;

We have an old black and white cat named Max;

And we have a turtle named Doc.

(It's my parents' dog, actually. I wouldn't own a dog myself, because IMO they're too noisy and stinky, and it isn't pleasant cleaning up the backyard either. :) )

We have a very stupid dog (Labrador cross ?? something) called Chloe. She's extremely exuberant and loves playing with kids and other dogs who venture close - unfortunately she doesn't quite understand the concept of being gentle or making allowances for those not quite as robust as she is. This is cause for some concern on frequent occasions. :rolleyes:

But she's very lovable and is very vocal with her communication techniques.

We had the "Pet Parade" at school last week so I had to drag her along to that (the stuff of nightmares I assure you). I came home with blisters on my hands from trying to keep her under control. She just didn't know where to start - all those kids and animals to play with - she was in doggie heaven.

everyone seems to be insulting their pet one way or another. i love my fat old black lab Chance. Even though she is kind of boring... wow deja vous i think i might have said this before. anyway, does anyone ever wonder how animals commuinicate? i think it has to do with telepathy. I think every human would be capable of it if we werent so stuck on talking with our mouths. anyone else think this??

I reckon you're crazy :D
Just kidding. I don' think they are capable of any level of conversation similar to that of human beings.

I don't have any pets of my own, unless you count the thing that might have been a peach at the back of the fridge that seems to be growing faster and faster and the dog next door that continually barks right outside my window on morings when i really need a good sleep.

I've got a dog, it's a -Langhaardackel-, I don't know what this means in English. He's got short legs and a very long body and long hair. I would call him a crazy freak, indeed - but I like him very much.

Then I've got a turtle, a little bit boring but quite cool. I'm also the owner of a couple of fishes. That's it...l

Well, as a child I had a black cat called sootty....

But not had any pets since I was married.... my partner not keen.

Though did relent and let our daughters have hamsters..... over six years they both had two.. (Which is not bad as the beasties only live for two to three years....)

Anyway I was not too keen on the little rats.... Especially, as one christmas eve I dragged my self down stairs into the darkened kitchen and felt "something" run over my foot... One of the hamsters had gotten out of its cage and had been pinching "stuff" off the christmas tree, its nest was full of ribbon and silver strands......

When I was five years old I had a cat named Pitoe. It died when I was thirteen. I really loved that cat and was really sad that he(it) died. Since then I have ignored all other cats that run around our house.

I'm petless for the timebeing. But me and the GF will be moving into an apartment together in July/Aug, then I'll have 2 cats...which I'm allergic to. Her cats haven't really bothered me for allergies...which is weird.

Diana - tortoiseshell cat, quiet, skittish
Riley - tuxedo cat, very energetic and vocal.

All I can say - if either one touches my speakers, they go out the door!

Fish:

55 gal, Black Ghost Knife(very cool) Polyptimus(very cool) some glass cats, the ubiquitous pleco, some little yellow guys, a few tetras.

My wife's 35 gal, a massive coy, it started out as a feeder but is now about the size of a salad place, and an Albino African Clawed Frog who started out about the size of my thumb nail and is now much larger than a dinner plate, cool to see though.

Then there's the Rabbit, Oakley. A rich red color, he's the same variety that inspired the Velvetine Bunny, and he's certainly soft. I've never been fond of rodent pets, but I'll admit it's cool to see Oakley playing with my four year old daughter, they take turns chasing eachother around the house... I think it's has something to do with them trying to determine the dominant member of the relationship...

I've got a few digital pets for my Palm device, the Sony Clie. Stopped keeping up with them a few months ago though...

I really want to get a dog, by my SO is dead set against it. Whenever I ask for a puppy he asks for a kid, so I've stopped asking *lol*. I do have a dog that lives with my dad (I got her when I was in HS), but since I haven't lived with her in 8 years I guess I don't really consider her mine anymore. She's a totally adorable corgi-pom mix. Very friendly and cute and all that wonderful stuff. One day I hope to get a lab, esp if we have kids. I grew up with a variety of labs and they are just all-around great dogs.
