Happy July. We've passed the halfway point of 2010 - can you believe it? Just yesterday we were partying like it was 1999. (Well, I was). I've pondered and pondered what to throw out this month. I asked my wife - she didn't care. I asked my daughter - she can't talk. I asked the dogs - they wanted to go out for a walk. I'm not clever enough to build a pod or roll dice or fark it, so I'll just throw out a word and let it go at that.

So, this month's theme is:

Redemption

Your story must be 1000 words or less. Post them in one of the stories sections and link them here. All submissions should be in by midnight July 20th GMT. Voting will take place from the 21st thru the 30th.

I hope that works for everyone. If you don't like it, tough... write anyway. I'm king for the month and you must obey my commands.

Nice theme. Should make for some interesting entries.

Very nice theme. Of course, Hoodwink's thirty-seventh rule* states that the producivity of the author is inversely proportional to how much the author likes the theme.

* rules 1 - 36 are mainly concerned with women, wine, kittens and stealth techniques.

Good theme, Todd. I'll try to get something in this month. Oh, and CONGRATS!!! :)

Mine's posted. I never write military stuff or anything in the first person, so this month I've done both just to see if I can. I'm not sure if it's really worked or not, so feedback very greatfully accepted!

Wow, Pete, you beat HE in.. that's a very impressive accomplishment. :)

Please post a link of your story in this thread so I can keep track of everything. You can edit you first post, or post another.

FF is a great way to try new things, so I am glad to see you taking advantage of it. I look forward to reading it.

I yield the first place honors to PeteMC as I needed to edit the first sentence. Since the sffworld software won't let me edit in the stories thread, I posted here in Stories Section: http://www.sffworld.com/community/story/4185p0.html

kater: if you're hanging around, why can't we edit stories after others have commented?
