Maughan's 'Harry of Monmouth'
The prose is simple and eloquent as it retells (don't know how close to historical fact) the rise of King Henry V. It has elements of Kay's prose with Martin's court intriuge. Anyone else out there read it?
As a side note, I was actually trying to pick up a novel by W. Sommerset Maugham, and accidentaly picked up this one. It took me a few chapters to read the title page more carefully and notice that Maugha_N_ does not equal Maugha_M_; I must be growing blind as well as stupid in my dotage.
