Anyone else really excited for Inception?

I'm in the US. And it starts here on the 16th.

I'm going on the day it opens if it reaches my little theatre.

Hell yeah I'm psyched for it! I knew someone who worked on the film and he said it was awesome. In fact he said he was upset that he knows what's going to happen and that he won't get to enjoy the process of watching everything unfold. Nolan is brilliant.

The are promoting the heck out of it here in South Korea but I have no idea what the devil it really is about. Can not decide if it is a cross between The Matrix and Dark City or if it is it's own breed.

Should be interesting either was as it has Leo and Nolon. Two masters of their craft.

I am not psyched for it but I will give it a shot as there are very few English movies shown here and it is fairly hot outside so an escape from the heat and some popcorn are always a good idea.

Movie tickets are expensive, I'd like to know something about the movie before I spend the money on the ticket, just knowing the name is not good enough.

But knowing the director and the actors should at least say it is worth going to check out.

But since you don't know much about Inception here you go:

Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. Seen it. Loved it. James Bond meets Philip K Dick.

Works on lots of levels, so is probably going to be worth a couple of viewings. Very dark. Very bleak.

How Nolan got that one through the Hollywood machine, I have no idea. But it was quite brilliant watching all the plates spin at once.

Not perfect. But pretty damned good.

I loved it too. Can't say I understood it, but it was pretty darn fun to watch. I will need to review it several times before I really get it.

Loved the ambiguous ending, and how it all works on so many levels.

Great movie for discussion.

I don't see a lot of movies in the theatre and had intended on passing on this one, too. I thought I would just wait until it came out later on tv (DirecTV, that is). However, the conversation here has me curious enough to need to see it in the theatre.

Peter: I know what you mean. I do think this is one to see on a big screen, if it helps.

It does. I'm definitely down with anything that earns the Furry Blue Ribbon seal of approval. :D
