Bit vague but any ideas?

Been bugging me as to what this book was I read ages ago.

I think the main character is a Princes steward called James?
There was another character called William?

Other than that I can't remember anything accurate.
But it keeps bugging me!

Thanks
A x

Lol, a bit vague is a complete understatement. Even if not accurate, anything else that might come to mind?

Surprised this rang any bells at all with me, but try Raymond Feist's Riftwar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Riftwar_Saga) saga, starting with Magician.

I was thinking that, but wasn't sure about William... though I think Pug has a son by that name. Weird that these are the two characters that one might think of when considering Riftwar, so I didn't give it much thought.

Damn your good!

That's exactly the series I was thinking of it jogged my memory when I saw the Authors name!

Thankyou sooo much, I can now hunt for the rest of the books :)

Bastard is right. It's odd the sort of names or ideas that stick with us over the years. Without seeing those two names next to each other, I don't think I would have said they had anything to do with Riftwar. I would probably have 20 or so other details pop into mind before either of those names. Glad we could help.

I'm terrible at remembering what books I have read, I have a really bad memory.

I generally get all my books from the library and with a limited fantasy section, I kinda just grab what they have so never really read stuff in order or read the end of series.

But thanks again I really do appreciate it :)

I have read the last current book in the Riftwar legacy and there seems to be no plans for the last ones :( Shame as they were good!
