Title/author of short story

Hello, this is my first post here.

The short story is about the people of earth discovering that they can't get out of the solar system, because it is enclosed in a giant transparent sphere.
When they finally break out, they find out that all the planetary systems are also trapped in spheres.
Very good story and written in a humorous style.

I read it 10 years ago, in a short story compilation book that was older.
