Real name Emil. I live in Göteborg, Sweden.
Age 24. Been fantasy'ing since ... umm Lord of the Ring when I was like 8-10?

I read fantasy in swedish a while. That sucked. Then I understood that fantasy should be read in the original language (english). Have been at it ever since.

Sometimes i even read a King or a Koontz. Don't tell anyone (;

Janny Wurts is BY FAR the best fantasy author by the way (;

EE... certain of us on this forum activly hunt down Stephen King readers and subject them to torture http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Stephen King is a fantasy author, so we don't mind talking about him... I fact I INSIST you talk about him, there is a topic floating about here on Stephen King...

Hiya!

Real name: Casey

Hail from: Indianapolis IN

Started reading fantasy with the DragonLance chronicles a long time ago. (Unless It by SK counts! That was back in 5th grade!)

I'm 27 yrs old, approaching the dreaded 30. I'm a PC tech, and reading REALLY REALLY REALLY helps keep me sane!

hello!
Im Douglas and i live in Scotland (sounds like a game show)
The first fantasy book i read was the hobbit,cause i was board and it was the most intresting looking book on the bookshelf,but it was the wheel of time books that got me into fantasy.
I also loved the running with demon books by Brooks.
I am also a big Buffy/Angel fan.

I'm 23, from N. Ireland. I have just started my own SFF books website.

I got the usual Lion/Witch/Wardrobe stuff in school of course, but my first real foray into fantasy on my own was Magician, by R.E. Feist. I am still in love with that book today. Far better than LotR (agh! don't kill me please! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif) It's probly my favourite ever fantasy novel.

You gotta love the single volume LotR though, just coz it makes you look so damn cool if you take it out to read it on holiday, or on lunchbreak http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif (Well I'm hoping those raised eyebrows mean cool, and not 'OMG what a geek!' LOL! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif)

FitzFlagg raises his eyebrows, "OMG that Aleya sure is a geek!" J/k http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

On quick glance, the web-site looks good! Welcome!

LOL ;P

Thank you for the kind comments. This place seems pretty cool so far.
('cept for those uptight moderators) <g>

I always thought with the LotR that I got that kind of 'You _enjoy_ reading?' bewilderment. I don't really know anyone else RL who actually enjoys SFF _books_ (as opposed to film/TV) which I always thought was really strange, because it's a whole entire section in the bookshops, and there are bundles of books coming out all the time, so _somebody_ must read them - heh!

Therefore I'm glad of my net connection, because at least online I can meet a few people who actually like the same stuff as me. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah, i can relate to that, over here there aren't many people who read fantasy either...

Btw, check out around the board, many people here like other fantasy books better than The Lord of The Rings. There were some pretty interesting and sometimes heated debates about that.

Hi I'm Sean,15 years old from the U.K. I got into fantasy with Tigana. I know some say it's a little too old for teenagers but I read it when I was about 12 and loved it. The first series I began was The Wheel Of Time then Feist. Loved fantasy ever since.
