Well to save everyone reading about me twice, I have deleted my first attempt so hopefully, eventually, I'll only grace you with my presence once.

My name is Veronica and I come from sunny Cairns, Australia (Yes there does seem to be a disproportionate amount of Aussies on here - we must have nothing better to do than sit around and read all day - ah well its a tough life but someone has to do it).
After reading all the other ages, I feel like a bit of a granny, though, being 36 years old. I am married with 2 little girls and work as a pathology scientist.

I was actually introduced to the fantasy genre by a friend, when I ran out of Dean Koontz books (Yes he's my all time favourite, I'd have to admit - even though he's not your conventional fantasy writer). Anyway, I mentioned that I liked the "Good wins over Evil" theme in his books and my friend suggested that I might enjoy Lord of the Rings (This was only about 5-7 years ago by the way - a bit of a late starter) and I've never looked back. Now I read every chance I get - when family and work commitments allow (and sometimes, I must admit, even when they don't allow, if I'm at a particularly nail-biting part - much to my husband and kids' disgust).
Oh well, life was meant to be enjoyed after all.

e-morgana... a pathologist? Hmmm... My pathology textbook was the thickest book I ever read. Eat your heart out, Jordan!

Oh yeah and to EE - I guess I'll have to remember to take into account the possible gramatical translations that might pop up with various languages and express myself more clearly.

Hi - I'm Cathleen, 33, in Upstate New York. I've been silently watching the board here and want to be a part! I also started on The Hobbitt (subways in NYC - freakin' mesmorized, I'd miss my stop)and have since used my love of fantasy in many of my songs - "Captured Queen", "Wishing Well", "Vision Quest", "The Brave Scout". We are a modern rock band and as the lyricist, arranger am free to write whatever I want - the guys (who do not read, ever!)are digging this & our (my) goal is to put out a fantasy-inspired CD all rocked out...I placed a short story on here "Winter Will" which is in poem form - don't think anyone ever read it but I enjoyed seeing it "in print". Anyway, I am currently reading Terry Brook's Running With the Demon and Angel Fire East - easy reads (sneaking into the bathroom at work) but enjoy much more in-depth, emotional stuff - I loved the Shannara series. Anyway! Nice to meet you all and look forward to participating!

My name is Johanna. I'm 17 years old and I live in Finland. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I'm not sure what was my first fantasy book but it was either Tolkien's The Hobbit or the Narnia series. After that I read Eddings and Ursula K. LeGuin's Earthsea series.

Usually, I like fantasy more than scifi.
