About 5 years ago while I was in Iraq I read a book that had guns, magic and fire breathing imps in it. for the last 5 years I have been trying to figure out what the series was. I know thats kind of vague but any suggestions would be appriciated

One series that may correspond to the above is the Multiverse by David Weber and Linda Evans Hell's Gate and Hell Hath no Fury

unforturnitly thats not it A couple of the parts I remember are.: The main character met a dancer in an in that was all gold.. and to start fires he used a small demon or imp he kept in a matchbox... Sorry I know this is very vague. I'm just hoping to spark someone elses memory.
