I'm finishing up Book 1 - Across the Face of the World. Well written I think, a tad slow in spots but I like the style so far. Is it worth continuing on? I have no particular dedication to finishing series. Last year I read Game of Thrones, loved it, but had no desire to read 1300 pages of book 2 and a story that continued on and on with no apprent end. I also had no desire to get sucked into the Salvatore epics either. Trilogies are my limit for time and interest as I love to read history more than fantasy. Any takers out there for this series. I see in the discussions of best and worst authors that Kirkpatrick doesn't comes up, so I imagine that he is considered kind of middle of the road.
