Favourite bands?

I know this one has got to have been done before, but I don't see a recent thread and being an upstart newbie I'm going to do it anyway :p

At the moment I'm into Mercury Rev and Coldplay and they've been dominating my CD Player the the last few weeks.I'm not a massive music fan and my taste is pretty limited, but give me a good album and I'm as happy as a kid in a candy shop :)

You?

New Found Glory and Creed. These are what I have been listening to recently. I also like a lot of other music. Just not, rap, teeny boppers, and hard rock.

Hmm, I am pretty much always listening to music, work, home, in the car, you name it, and I like quite a lot of different stuff actually. I'd have to say that my all time favourites would be Metallica and Nirvana while my current favourites probably is Dave Matthews Band and Live.

And last but not least, what have I been listening to a lot lately (and liked): Verve Pipe, Starsailor, Dashboard Confessional, Nickleback, POD, Jars of Clay, Linkin Park, Belle and Sebastian, Staind, Flys, Tracy Chapman, Flying Blind, 8 stops 7, American Hi-Fi, Dishwalla, Beth Orton, Dar Williams, Earth to Andy, Redd Kross, Puddle of Mud and White Stripes.

Well, that pretty much sums it up I guess :).

I myself am TOTALLY one for some ice grinding, spell binding rock (and alternative). Actually I'm in a rock band and I do the wild vocals ;) , which are mostly lyrics I write when I'm feeling mellodramatic. Now as for my 'favourite' bands, the list is seemingly infinite. I also love celtic, classical, and a little bit of pop and country. But if you want to know my all time favourite band ever... well it's actually a solo artist named Davide Di Ragusa who's an opera singer most of you round Germany should know! :)

Great faves Dag! All of those you posted I love! :D

We don't see a lot of Dag on the forums.... but Starsailor and Nickleback gets my vote too... a bit new.. but with roots in the classic... but still new and fresh.

Of all the current crop .. Nickleback... a fine band.. with musicians.. not many have these days... and a fine bloody axeman!! with a frontman that can actually sing!!! What a fine voice.

Nearly as good as DIO :D

Cadfael.. my favorite administrator ever! Rush is, of course, my favorite too. Only one more month and I get to see them live!

My other favorites include NIN, Dead Can Dance, VAST, Rob Zombie, Tori Amos, A Perfect Circle and Chroma Key (an ex-member of Dream Theater).

Ok so I'm old, but I do recognise most of the bands mentioned here. Several are some I enjoy, Nickleback, Sting, Rod Stewart, Eagles...and many others, oldies are good too. But please forget the teenybopper Ingenue crap, it sucks....
