quetion about Game of Thrones

Hello!
I'm thinking of starting A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin soon and was just wondering if you consider it to be too graphic for a thirteen year old.
Thanks in advance,

Are you the thirteen year old? Either way:

I'd say it's a bit too graphic for that age. Not because of the violence--most young adults can handle that, I know--but the sexual content in the book is pretty thick. Most of it is a bit out there (either involving midgets and prostitutes, incest, or pedophile) and, uh, well-described. Martin doesn't skimp in that area. I'm not a prude by any means, the sex in Martin's books didn't bother me in the slightest, but at thirteen I don't think it would be the best idea. I know it wouldn't have been for me.

Hey Elentari, I would like to say that I think that if you are a mature person you could read this book. I read it when I was thirteen also and I loved it. So if you think you can handle it, go right on ahead, it isn't as bad as it is talked up to be anyway. At least not compared to high school gossip.

It depends on the reader, I would say. Give it a try and if it seems to graphic for you, or makes you uncomfortable, then stop reading it. I wouldn't recommend it for a group discussion amoung 13 year olds for a class project or anything like that, but I don't think it is beyond the scope of a mature minded teen-ager. I had read worse by the time I was 13. ;)

I would have to agree with Alucard on this one . Also there is plenty of rape in there .
