Just picked up the new Opeth live DVD. It is Opeth's 20th anniversary performance at The Royal Albert Hall in London.

DVD 1 (Observation One) They perform Blackwater Park in its entirety.
DVD 2 (Observation Two) Is a fantastic set list with songs that span their entire body of work.

The concert is entitled Evolution XX - An Opeth Anthology and that my friends is exactly what this is.

Bands like Opeth are rare. Constantly pushing the envelope musically. I have the entire Opeth collection and can say with sincerity that I love every single album and performance.

While Tool will always be my favorite band Opeth is without question in my top 5.

My first post on a SF site and already I’m talking about music, typical.
Anyway, there is something particularly special about Opeth. I have all their studio stuff (Watershed is my current favourite, probably because it’s the newest) and have seen them live a few times.
I don’t buy many live DVD’s but from what I’ve heard, this one is pretty go so I will have to give it a go.

Definitely worth the purchase. Fantastic. Great interview with Åkerfeldt as well.

This is a great DVD.

I'd have to say Watershed though is in my top 10 favourite albums.

Watershed is a masterpiece. Opeth is in my top 5 favorite bands. Tool will always be number one on my list but Opeth is right there.

Opeth is easily my favorite band, and that DVD sounds pretty sweet...especially since they play Blackwater Park in its entirety, its my favorite album.

Personally, I'm not such a huge fan of their latest effort, and recent line-up changes have made them feel like a totally different band, but I think now that the current line-up has had a chance to gel, their next album should be great.

I do prefer Lopez to Axenrot but they are both excellent drummers.

Getting to see Blackwater Park in its entirety is awesome. It is rare when a band does an entire album live.

It is also hard to see Opeth without Peter Lindgren. Yeah, I love when bands play an entire album straight through. I've seen Mastodon play Crack the Skye straight through twice and it was amazing.

I'll have to try to get my hands on that DVD.

Damnation is a great album, but I can't stand the "honey monster" vocals on any of the other albums.

Honey Monster? lol Okay fair enough. How about Meshuggah then? Jens has the best set of pipes in metal.
