never read Kay Fionavar but Joel Rosenburgs Gaurdian of the Flame series were the first fantasy books i ever read (i think)
The first 4 are fantastic then they go down hill, still readable but no where near as good. I have read one other of his series, can't remember the name but they weren't that great again still readable though.

i also haven't read kay's fionavar but really liked rosernberg. only read the first four, got the fifth one but i've been told, as Nac said, that it goes downhill from there. is the other series the one with ian silverstein? if so, how many books does it have? i got a feeling of incompleteness when i read it but i was told that was all there was( i don't know how many i read).
This don't have much to do with guy g kay, do it?

Kay's series is three books complete. I agree Rosenberg's series did go downhill. Fionavar does not disappoint.

Would this be the dude writing Feist's new riftwar book Murder in LaMut? If so I may check him out. I liked William Forstchen, so I'll check him out too.

Ick. I read most of the first book and couldn't even finish it. I thought it was ridiculous. But I'm going to try again because the calibre of the writing (irregardless of the plot/story) was fairly impressive. There's just a few books on my list I'd rather tackle first.
Just my opinion, of course....h

Yes... and a fine book to boot.

I was quite disappointed by Fionvar. Kay's later work was much, much better, Imo.
