i just read Paul Hoffman's fantasy novel The Left Hand of God and i'm writing a paper on his book. i need to know about the litarery elements in the book such as metaphors, contrasts etc. the only element i managed to find so far, is allusion. can anybody please help me find other elements? if you don't know, you can perhaps answer me this: what are typical charactiristics of a fantasy novel? (the longer the list, the better:) i don't mean like on world basis, but let's say in english and american fantasy novels?
