First of all, hi everyone. I found this page and forums by chance and boy am I glad :)

I thought I would start my stay in these forums by asking for your favourite Phil Dick novel. My apologies is this has already been asked recently.

My favourite is The Man in the High Castle. It's not only my favourite book ever but it actually influenced my life in more ways than simply enjoying a book. It's so well written and characterized it stands as one of the very bests of the century imo.

What do you think? What's your favourite Philip K Dick novel?

Probably Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep...could be 'cause that is the only one I have read...............:o

Hmm, it's a close tie between A Scanner Darkly and Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said. But I'd have to go with A Scanner Darkly. Philip K. Dick is the best author is the world!!! Don't let anyone else tell you any different. (I didn't say he was the best writer, so don't give me crap :D )

Good timing with this subject since I'm in the middle of the PKD omnibus the Science Fiction Book Club recently published.

I'd have to say my favorite is either Eye in the Sky or Ubik.

I got excited when I saw that omnibus in the catalog, but then I realized I already owned multiple copies of all the books in it. Oh well!

I had already owned only one, The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, so it was still well worth it considering the the Vintage Books editions are about $12-$14 a piece.

Rob Grant rated Scanner Darkly in his top ten and I trust his judgement... even tho he listed his own books 9th and 10th. I would have rated them higher.

Who is Rob Grant?

BTW, finished A Scanner Darkly and didn't like it all that much, especially compared to the other PKD books I read.

What did you not like about A Scanner Darkly, Flagg? I enjoyed the humor of the book, as well as it's view into the drug culture, but I guess that's not for everyone.
