Like most of you I'm sure, I have quite a collection of short stories that I have been working on over the years.

I now want to bite the bullet and attempt to get a couple published and preferably get paid for it!!!

Can anyone recommend any magazines or Webzines that are open to submissions from as yet unpublished bods?

Thanks

Almost all magazines are open to submissions from unpublished writers, but higher-profile magazines are harder to sell to.

http://www.ralan.com has great market listings.
http://www.spicygreeniguana has some as well, though they're a bit out of date.
http://www.speculations.com/rumormill/ has announcements about changes in markets, and other discussion about markets for SF short stories.

Just thought I would **BUMP** this a little as we have lots of new members.

If any of you guys have recommendations for good quality magazines or even better have had publishing success in them, post here for the rest of us to have a pop.

If you have any short stories that you feel are right for an Urban Fantasy magazine, check out 'Here and Now':

http://www.bradanpress.co.uk (not the best Website, but excellent quality printed magazine)

Don't forget, if you submit a story to a magazine, keep us all up-to-date.
